Goldsmith’s Race #1

Our first race is in the books – thanks to the volunteers and participants for making it happen. Best wishes for a safe and happy New Year to all!

Results: Race Team/Masters

Sunday’s Race is GS

At the request of Head Coach Karen Lundgren, we are having a GS rather than a SL race for the first Goldsmith’s race.  The original reasoning was that since the first USSA races are SL, we would reinforce the training with a SL race for the Goldsmith’s.  Now, since the racers will benefit from a week of SL racing in the Christmas Camp, those who attended the Clifford Mann Open SL & GS race were only able to do the SL portion, and also the older racers who are racing FIS have a Divisional SG & GS race in Squaw on January 4-7, it made sense to train GS and race GS this weekend.

We are sorry for the late notice.

Twitter & Web Site Updates

Masters coach Rob Carpenter will have an update shortly as to our new training schedule (times & days).  Stay tuned for details.  And if you haven’t already, please subscribe to our updates so you can receive an email when new posts and updates are made.  You can submit your name and email address at the far right side of the Home page under 2012-13 Schedule.  I won’t sell your email address, I promise.

We’re going to continue to utilize the Twitter feed from the site to keep everyone abreast of training location and event.  You can follow BigBearMasters on Twitter and receive updates via text message on your cell phone – or check the Twitter feed on our web page.

For those of you new to Twitter – here’s how to set it up:

Follow BigBearMasters on Twitter by clicking the Twitter link at the top right of the page – it’s the light blue “T” that’s next to the “F” (Facebook).  This will take you to our Twitter page. You’ll need to be signed into your own Twitter account or create one. Once you’re logged into your Twitter account, search for BigBearMasters or go to https://twitter.com/BigBearMasters and click Follow.

Set Up Mobile Notifications – Go to Settings in your Twitter account (see screenshot below).  In the left hand column go to Mobile and set up your cell phone number. Be sure to select Text Notifications – Tweets from people you’ve enabled for mobile notifications. Save Changes (at the bottom)

Turn on Mobile Notifications – Go back to the BigBearMasters Twitter page (use the search bar at the top of the page if you can’t find it). Turn on Mobile Notifications (see screenshot below).  That’s it!  If it doesn’t work, please contact me and I’ll walk you through it.
