Big Bear Cycling – Open House & Membership Party Tonight at Nottinghams!

Dear Everybody,

I hope this email finds you well as some of you I have not seen in a long time.

Most of you know of my passion for cycling.I have recently become involved with Big Bear Cycling, Big Bear Trails Foundation, and the stakeholder advisory committee for a Valley Wide Pedestrian, Equestrian, Bicycle program. This work gave me an idea, something I thought the valley kids needed.

I’m writing to ask for your help with a new program that I have started with Big Bear Cycling. The bike to school scholarship program is awarding nine scholarships its first year. The scholarships will be given to fourth grade students with the goal of riding the bike to and from school whenever weather permits. Each winner will receive a mountain bike with helmet, lock, lights, etc.. The bikes remain the property of the scholarship program and will be replaced with larger sizes as needed. The scholarship continues with the student through high school until graduation.

My personal goals for the program are to promote better health and a better environment for all Big Bear Valley residents.I am asking for donations of money, time, or equipment to help the program grow and continue for years to come. Please let me know how much you can help and tell me your dreams for the bike to school scholarship program! Checks should be made to Big Bear Cycling and of an amount you would be comfortable donating year after year. If you’re in the Big Bear valley ,Wednesday the 24th, please come to Nottinghams restaurant for an open house and membership party.5-9 pm. If you’re out of town, mail checks to my home mailing address.

Goldsmith’s #5 – Combi

We’ve concluded our final race of the season at Snow Summit – Goldsmith’s #5. It was an exciting format change for us, mixing slalom and GS in one course. Many thanks to the coaches, race team parents and other volunteers, as well as Goldsmith’s for their continued support. A special thanks to our coach, Rob Carpenter, for such a great job this season!
